Not Dead Yet!

I'm sitting outside writing this, a light cool breeze, mile high fluffy clouds, with an 8.7% Imperial Pilsner in my hand. Not a bad day. I think I'd like to start writing again, though it really isn't as much fun telling stories in an abandoned place by myself.  My friend that got me into blogging back before it was cool, I think,  is still blogging somewhere just for himself. I wish I was motivated to do that. I do love going back and reading stuff from when I was in a different time and place than I am now. I guess it's as close to a diary that a straight male can have. I guess I just enjoy(ed) the feedback. I think hearing what other people thought about what I was thinking gave me perspective on my own thoughts. Well, I need to get going,  I need to introduce some animal flesh to hardwood fueled fire before I catch too much of a shine from these horse tranquilizers that I'm imbibing in! Later Freaks!

Transmission

Here I am again little blog. A familiar story to be sure. Drunk, feeling a little off, and here. What have I got to say. Not sure yet. I did seem to make a pretty major change recently. One of the larger changes a person can make. I quit my job and took what I'm hoping is a better offer. Things had gotten pretty shitty at my former job. And a new opportunity presented itself. But I was really struggling, because the timing of the new oportunity would absolutly fuck my former employer, well more specifically, the fuckheads that were making my life suck at my former employer. I had to figure out if I really wanted to take the new job because it's what was best for me, or did I just want to fuck the assholes I used to work for. Still not sure which reason I took the new job. I suspect a bit of both. I'm hoping in the long run this is really what's best, but if not, I'm sure something else will present itself. It usually seems to. Though I'm hoping that this new venture does work out. A guy can dream I guess. And I've heard that sometimes good things happen to good people, so maybe good things can happen to an asshole like me too. Oh well, I guy can dream. I think it's time for another beer, and strangley I seem to have things I seem to want to share, and I just happen to have this fancy new computer thing too. If things get really crazy, I may even post a picture, we'll see, the ladies seem to get all crazy when I do that. I think I'm out of things to say tonight, Not as entertaining as my drunk posts usually are, but I seem to have drank myself sober, or is it drinked, or drunk? Who gives a shit, I'm not even going to do a spell check, so what do I care if there's gramatical errors! Later Freaks

Do You Believe In Father Christmas

I know, it's been a long time. I've posted on a blog in some form or another since 2005 so I felt obligated to say something on here, though I really don't have much to say. It's too early in the day for even me to be drinking, so this post may not be as entertaining as some. 2020 has really kind of sucked for a lot of reasons,  though there have been some incredible bright spots as well. Here I am 15 years older than I was when I started putting my thoughts and feelings out here for anyone to read. In some ways I'm a completely different person than I was back then, and in some ways I'm exactly the same. I wish I were motivated to write more because I like going back to see where my head was at. And some of my writing entertains me too. But I do miss the interaction with other people on here, it was such a cross section of people, that the new social media just can't have. I'm not sure where I'm going with any of this, maybe it's just the holiday season making me feel a bit melancholy. I'm hoping the coming year goes a bit better, I'm hoping for the motivation to make some changes. And possibly the motivation to write here more often, though I've said that before.  Who knows. If anyone actually happens upon this post, have a Merry Christmas and I pray that you too find the motivation to make some positive changes in whatever you chose to do in the coming year. Crossroads

Have you ever looked back on a crossroads in your life and wondered if you took the wrong path? I wonder all the time if things would be easier,  or if I'd be happier if I'd have done things differently years ago. I'm guessing most people wonder about these things. I think I'm at a crossroads now, and things are as hazy and unclear as they were back then. Right now I'm wishing there was somebody out there, like there used to be, I could really use some guidance,  advice, or even some vague direction.  Yep, I'm drunk and watching sepia tone videos from the 90's. I'm depressed and wondering if this is really all there is. Don't worry. I'm not going to do anything drastic. I can tread water a really long fucking time. But maybe that's the real problem. Does Anybody Know What Time It Is?....Does Anybody Really Care.......About Time?

Does anyone actually blog anymore? Does it matter? Not really, I guess. With no audience I don't really have to worry about spelling errors now. So, what's new with me...... I just signed up for another marathon. If I finish it'll be my seventh. That is, if I can keep from injuring my friggin calf in the next 9 months. Other than that, not much new with me. I'm older, I now have no living parents. Which I guess is the natural order of things, but it's still a little weird. I still have questions. I guess they'll get answered soon enough. There's days I think I'll start writing here again, it's therapeutic. Clears my head, and quite often amuses me when I read it after I've written during a night of drinking. I probably won't, start writing again, that is. I used to be able to write at work when I was slow, but I can't anymore. But who knows. I tried to read some of the blogs I used to, but most are gone or just left abandoned. The last post probably the day before they found the book of faces, which I still will not partake of. So if you want to talk to me you just have to buy me a barley pop. Though if anyone is still out there, leave a comment, let me know if you're still writing. I'm not promising I'll write any more, but who knows. Later Freaks.

"Wicked Game" or some shit like that.............

Hey kids, it's been a while. I was pretty surprised when I actually remembered the login and password for my blog. Honestly, I had a big post about music earlier. I was going to talk about how the formulaic approach is killing music today, how you need to find the voice that speaks to you, how artists like Dylan would never have been heard if they would have had to make it through 10 rounds of judging. But then I thought, shut the fuck up you pompous jackass!  Yes, I've been drinking. Yes, I'm a little depressed, and yes, that usually means I've looked up every artist that's ever recorded the song "Wicked Game". What I need you to do now, is to type that song title into whatever music search engine you prefer and find the voice that speaks to you. For me it's Lana Del Rey, really, look it up, it'll give you fucking goosebumps on top of goosebumps. And yes, if you're a little drunk, and a little depressed, you may want to put a bullet in your temple, but don't worry, I probably won't. But I now understand why so many men my age do. But that's a post for another day. I'm talking about music today, or am I? Hard to say, been drinking for quite some time. You know who else has a pretty spectacular version of "Wicked Game"? Pink, I don't think it's ever been published, but not surprising, her voice is pretty incredible. Then there's the countless metal versions, and yes they kick ass! "Him" I think they're Swedish, is one of the more kick ass versions. But I have to admit, my absolute favorite, or for you Canadians, favourite, is still the original. The Chris Isaac version, the classic. I don't know what it is about it. Helena Christensen in men's underpants. Or if it was the girl that I was with when the song came out. It really fit where I was in my life at that time. Maybe that's why a certain song sticks with you, why it hits you that deep. I won't ever admit it but I tear up every time I hear it. I'm not sure if it's where I was, who I was with, or the fact that I never did live up to what I thought I'd be by now. Oh well, time to fix spelling errors and grab another beer, or two, or three, or whatever. Later Freaks.

I miss the days when my life was mine.
